Cased Pair of Percussion Pistols
A cased pair of 22 bore silver mounted patch/percussion cap pistols circa 1820 by Thomas Reynolds from Joseph Mantons, with octagonal Damascus barrels, signed on the flat of the barrels: ‘Reynolds from Joseph Mantons, London.’
They have gold-lined breeches and gold stamps marked ‘Thomas Reynolds’, with finely chequered walnut stocks. Overall length: 14in.
In their original case with accessories, a red leather 3-way flask, a steel oil bottle and an original T-shaped nipple key in leather pouch. The case, with the original baize lining, has some damage to the veneer. It has a Lacy & Reynolds label, the company of Lacy & Reynolds was the later trading name of Thomas Reynolds.
